Starglider Disk 2 throws you into the cockpit of a clunky but powerful AGAV—basically a flying tank—to defend Novenia from sneaky Egrons disguised as harmless Stargliders. The controls take a minute to get used to (you’ll be tweaking targeting modes and wrestling with speed settings at first), but once you’re airborne, it’s pure chaos. Those fake Stargliders? They take three missiles to kill, so you’re constantly darting back to repair depots between dogfights.
The cockpit view makes it feel like you’re really wrestling with this outdated war machine—scanner blipping, shields draining, missiles running low. And just when you think you’ve got a handle on things, the next level cranks up the difficulty. It’s one of those Amiga games where you’ll fail a lot before everything clicks, but when it does, blasting Egrons never gets old.
