Play Starglider 2 Online
You bank through asteroid fields in a tiny fighter, scavenging bomb parts before the space station finishes building itself—no hand-holding, just open space and a ticking clock. Those chunky '88 polygons somehow make the solar system feel alive as you dodge enemy fire between planets.

Game Overview
Starglider 2 was way ahead of its time in '88—flying through those chunky polygonal tunnels felt like magic back then. You start off in this little fighter, zipping between planets with no loading screens (which was insane for the era), hunting down bomb parts while dodging enemy ships. The whole solar system’s open from the jump, and you’ve gotta figure out where to scavenge components, trade with depots, or even chase down some professor hiding in an asteroid field.
What’s wild is how the space station keeps building itself in real-time—if you take too long gathering supplies, it’ll finish construction and boom, game over. No pressure, right? The flight controls are arcadey (your ship banks like a plane even in vacuum, which feels weird but works), and you can toggle between cockpit view or this janky external camera that makes flying nearly impossible but lets you admire your angular spaceship. Blowing up the station triggers this satisfying explosion… only for the whole cycle to reset immediately. Brutal, but I kept coming back anyway.
Fun fact: the Atari ST version somehow ran on monochrome monitors, which must’ve looked bizarre with all those flat-shaded polygons. Definitely one of those games that makes you appreciate how far we’ve come.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
