Game Overview
Starshot - Space Circus Fever is one of those weird, charming N64 games that never got enough love. You play as Starshot, this acrobatic alien trying to save a failing space circus from getting blown up by some robot-wielding villain. The whole thing has this bizarre energy—like if someone mixed a circus, sci-fi, and platforming into a slightly janky but endearing mess.
The levels are big and varied, with Starshot flipping, bouncing, and occasionally faceplanting his way through obstacles. You’ll swing from trapezes, dodge robot goons, and collect enough space cash to keep the circus afloat. The controls take a minute to get used to (this is an N64 platformer, after all), but once it clicks, there’s something oddly satisfying about nailing a tricky jump or outsmarting a level’s gimmick.
It’s not perfect, but if you’re into obscure retro games with personality, this one’s worth a look. Just don’t blame me when you get stuck on some ridiculous circus-themed puzzle.
