Starush_Disk1 came out in 1992 for the Amiga, published by Ubi Soft Entertainment Software. It was a time when the platform was full of creative shooters, and this one fit right in with its straightforward, level-based approach. You don't hear much about it now, but it had a clear identity among the flood of similar games from that era.

You pilot a ship through twelve distinct levels, each themed around a different element, moving from left to right while shooting down enemy craft and dodging their fire. Your main goal is simply to survive to the end of each stage and defeat the boss waiting there. A unique twist lets you replay completed levels backwards, facing new enemy patterns and challenges on the return trip. You collect symbols to upgrade your weapons and movement, but getting hit costs you those upgrades and eventually your ship itself, since your ship is your health bar. With only one life per attempt, the game demands careful play and memorization. It feels tense and deliberate, where every shot and dodge matters right up to the final boss.
