Game Overview
Stellar Crusade is one of those deep, slow-burn strategy games where you really feel like you're running a space empire—for better or worse. You pick either The League (always human-controlled) or The People's Holy Republic (human or AI), and then spend decades fighting over a tiny but absurdly valuable star cluster. Every turn covers three months, split into economic planning, moving fleets, and watching the chaos unfold in the resolution phase.
At first, it's all spreadsheets and careful expansion—building factories, shuffling resources between systems, trying not to bankrupt yourself on ship production. Then suddenly, you're knee-deep in covert ops and realizing you forgot to defend that one mining colony. The PHR always moves first in key phases, which adds this tense back-and-forth rhythm to the whole thing.
Scenarios can end after a set number of turns or when someone pulls off a sneaky win condition. It's the kind of game where you'll lose three hours without noticing, then spend the next day rethinking your entire trade route strategy.
