Super Army War came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2006, published by Global A Entertainment. It was a time when the GBA still had a strong lineup of smaller, focused titles, and this one fit right in with its straightforward military theme. You don't see many overhead shooters like this anymore, but back then it was a solid choice if you wanted some quick action on the go.
You control a lone helicopter pilot tasked with clearing enemy forces from a series of maps. Your main job is to protect allied ground units while destroying enemy tanks, bunkers, and aircraft. The game plays out screen by screen; you maneuver to avoid incoming fire, use your machine gun for most targets, and deploy limited special weapons like missiles for tougher enemies. The pacing is relentless, with enemies swarming from all sides, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly. It feels tense and demanding, forcing you to stay alert through every sortie.
