Super Dodge Ball Advance came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2001, developed by Millennium Interactive. It was part of that early GBA wave where developers were still figuring out how to make the most of the hardware, and this one stood out simply by being a dodgeball game when almost everything else was an RPG or a platformer.
You control a team of dodgeball players, moving them around a court divided into two screens. The main goal is to eliminate the opposing team by hitting them with the ball before they hit you. Signature mechanics include throwing curveballs that bend around obstacles, and unleashing super shots that send opponents flying off the screen if they connect. Matches are fast and surprisingly tactical; you need to manage your team's stamina and positioning, not just hurl the ball mindlessly. It feels chaotic and physical in a way that really suits the sport.
