Super Hunchback on the Game Boy is exactly as weird and charming as it sounds. You play as Quasimodo—hump and all—bouncing through medieval Paris to save Esmeralda (again) from some guy named Halfenpounder, who sounds like a rejected Dickens villain. The controls are simple—run, jump, snack on suspiciously placed fruit—but the levels throw everything at you: rolling logs that knock you silly if you misjudge a leap, spike pits that end your run instantly, and ropes to swing from like a bell-ringer with a death wish.

What makes it stand out? The little things. Quasi’s goofy animations when he’s idle, the hidden bonus stages tucked behind certain bells, and the fact that someone thought "Yes, a Hunchback of Notre Dame platformer—this is what the world needs." It’s janky in that classic Game Boy way, but there’s something oddly satisfying about finishing a level by ringing a giant bell like you’re late for Mass.
