Super Hunchback came out on the Game Boy in 1992, published by Ocean Software. It was part of that wave of platformers that tried to do something a little different with the hardware, often based on movies or other licenses. You don't see many games starring Quasimodo, but here he is, climbing the towers of Notre Dame.

You control Quasimodo, and your main goal is to rescue Esmeralda from the clutches of Frollo. The game plays out screen by screen, with you jumping across gaps, climbing ropes, and avoiding hazards like spike pits and guards. A signature mechanic is using your rope to swing across larger gaps, which requires good timing. You also have a whip to fend off enemies, though it feels a bit short. The pacing is quick, and some sections are surprisingly tough, demanding precise jumps. It feels like a strange but earnest attempt to turn a tragic character into an action hero.
