Super Hydlide is one of those old-school action RPGs that feels janky at first but weirdly pulls you in. The music’s got that classic Genesis synth vibe, kinda repetitive but nostalgic.
It’s the third game in the Hydlide series, and honestly, it shows its age. The controls are stiff, and the translation’s a bit rough (thanks, early ‘90s localization). But there’s something charming about how open it feels—you can just wander off and get wrecked by stronger enemies if you’re not careful. The day-night cycle was pretty ambitious for its time, even if it mostly just makes everything harder to see at night.
