Game Overview

Super Skidmarks is this wild, chaotic top-down racer where you’re basically bumper cars on steroids. You’ve got everything from tiny Minis to full-blown F1 cars, and yeah, you can even race with caravans hooked to the back—which sounds ridiculous until you start using them like battering rams to shove opponents off the track.

The tracks are tight, walled-in circuits where you’re constantly bouncing off stuff (no damage, just pure mayhem). Some tracks even loop over themselves, so if you’re way ahead or lagging behind, you might slam head-on into another racer. And if you get bored of normal racing, flip the whole thing into reverse—one of the first games to let you do that.

There’s a surprising amount of customization too—adjust car colors, tweak power levels, even watch the track wear down over time as tires skid across it. You can play solo or jump into one of the championships, each tailored to different car types. Oh, and if you had two Amigas back in the day, you could link them for a dual-screen setup. Not that I ever did, but the fact it was possible says a lot about how ambitious this game was.

It’s messy, loud, and absolutely knows what it is—a game where cows with engines exist and winning sometimes means sideswiping someone into next week.
