Superman - Countdown To Apokolips (EU) on GBA is one of those licensed games that tries to capture the feel of being Superman but ends up feeling a little stiff. You fly around Metropolis, punch through enemies, and occasionally dodge obstacles, but the controls never quite feel as smooth as they should.
The first few minutes are spent getting used to the awkward flight mechanics—Superman moves in this weird grid-like pattern, and aiming punches feels off. The sprites are decent for a GBA game, though, and seeing Darkseid’s forces invade gives it some comic book energy.
It’s not terrible, but you can tell it was rushed. Superman - Countdown To Apokolips (EU) has moments where it almost clicks, but then the janky combat or repetitive missions pull you right back out.
