Sylvester and Tweety on the Sega Genesis came out in 1994, published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. It was one of those many licensed platformers from the era, based on the classic Looney Tunes shorts, and it fit right in with the colorful, side-scrolling action games that filled the shelves back then.
You control Sylvester the cat, and your goal is to catch Tweety Bird across a series of themed stages. The gameplay involves navigating single-screen areas, jumping on platforms, and avoiding a host of obstacles like falling anvils, Granny's rolling pin, and that bulldog, Hector. You collect items like milk bones to power up and unlock new paths, and the levels often require careful timing to progress. The game moves at a brisk pace and can be surprisingly tricky, with instant-death hazards around many corners. It feels like you're acting out a particularly frantic Saturday morning cartoon.
