Play Sylvester and Tweety on GBC Online
Guide Sylvester through side-scrolling levels, jump over hazards, solve light puzzles, and chase Tweety to catch him in each stage.
I picked up Sylvester and Tweety on Game Boy Color back in 1999, a Kemco release that fit right in with the handheld's library of cartoon adaptations. It was one of those games you'd see on a shelf next to other licensed titles, not groundbreaking but familiar and colorful, a straightforward take on the Warner Bros. characters.
You control Sylvester through side-scrolling stages, jumping across platforms and avoiding hazards like falling anvils or rolling boulders while chasing Tweety. The main goal is to catch the bird in each stage, which involves careful timing and some light puzzle-solving, such as hitting switches to open paths or using items like springs to reach higher areas. The levels are compact but filled with obstacles, and the difficulty can feel a bit unforgiving with precise jumps required. It captures the feel of the cartoons through its slapstick action and constant back-and-forth between the cat and bird.
