System GX is one of those arcade games that feels like it teleported straight out of the '90s—in the best way possible. The second you boot it up, you're hit with chunky pixel art and that unmistakable arcade soundtrack that makes you want to shove a few more virtual quarters into the machine.

It’s got that perfect balance of simple controls (just move and shoot, really) and brutal difficulty spikes that’ll have you muttering "one more try" under your breath. I lost track of how many times I got wrecked by the second boss before figuring out its pattern. The levels are short but packed with enough enemy waves and power-ups to keep your thumbs busy.

If you’ve got a soft spot for games where high scores actually mean something, this one’s a solid time capsule. Just don’t blame me when you realize an hour’s gone by and you’re still stuck on stage 3.
