You start as Alphonse, a rookie knight who quickly realizes Ovis Island isn’t just about shiny armor and noble causes. The story pulls you into betrayals, secret agendas, and those classic "wait, who do I even trust?" moments. Battles feel snappy but still demand real strategy—positioning archers on high ground actually matters, and letting your healer get surrounded is, predictably, a terrible idea.
The emblem system is the real hook, though. Do something cool in battle (like landing a killing blow with a crit) and you might earn a badge that permanently tweaks your unit’s abilities. It’s addictive in that "one more fight to see what unlocks next" way. And yeah, the pixel art holds up—those spell animations are weirdly satisfying for something on a tiny screen.
