Game Overview
Tak 2 on the GBA is one of those sequels that actually improves on the original—somehow even goofier, but with way more to do. You play as Tak, the world’s most accident-prone shaman, running around whacking things with a magic staff that mostly just causes chaos. One minute you’re turning into a chicken to peck at switches, the next you’re getting chased by some ridiculous monster because your spell backfired (again).
The puzzles are surprisingly clever for a game this silly—like using a fart potion to launch yourself across gaps, or tricking enemies into smashing walls for you. And the platforming? Just slippery enough to keep you on edge without feeling unfair. The whole thing looks like a cartoon that’s had too much sugar, all bright colors and exaggerated animations.
If you’ve got a soft spot for early 2000s humor and games that don’t take themselves seriously, this one’s a blast. Just don’t expect the Staff of Dreams to work properly more than half the time.
