TeleEpic came out in 1988 for the Amiga, developed by Software Terminal. It was a two player medieval combat game that used the split screen to let you and a friend fight it out on the same machine. This was a time when having a game that supported two players on one computer, especially with simultaneous action, felt like a real novelty.
You control a small squad of knights, each with their own stats and one of four weapon types: sword, axe, bow, or lance. The goal is to either wipe out the other player's units or capture their flag. Movement and combat happen on a screen by screen grid; you give orders to your units, then both players execute their turns at the same time. Attacks are made in one of eight directions, and ammunition for bows is limited, so you have to be smart about engagements. The game moves at a deliberate pace, and the difficulty comes from outthinking your opponent rather than quick reflexes. It feels like a tense, tactical duel where every move matters.
