Game Overview
TeleEpic is this weirdly charming medieval strategy duel for two players—you can play over modem (very 90s) or just take turns on the same machine. The screen splits in half: top shows your little pixel soldiers marching around, bottom has all the controls and a chat box to trash-talk your opponent. You click through your dudes one by one, telling them where to move, when to rest, and whether to chuck an axe or swing a sword.
Your squad’s got about a dozen guys, each with their own quirks—some move faster, some take more hits before dropping. The weapons feel surprisingly tactical: axes and arrows run out if you spam them, and melee fights depend on which way your guy’s facing. Maps have different terrain, so you end up shuffling your archers onto hills while your sword guys hold chokepoints. It’s janky but weirdly satisfying when you pull off a flank.
Matches end when either your flag gets snatched or everyone’s dead. There are only three maps, but the whole thing has this rough-edged charm—like a board game someone hastily digitized. If you’ve got a friend willing to suffer through the clunky interface with you, it’s a neat little time capsule of early multiplayer strategy.
