I picked up The Fairly Oddparents - Shadow Showdown (Sir VG) (EU) expecting a simple GBA platformer, but it's got this weird mix of action and puzzle-solving that keeps tripping me up. You control Timmy, Cosmo, and Wanda, switching between them to use their different abilities—Cosmo's magic blasts feel clumsy at first, but you get used to them.
The levels are these bright, cartoony spaces filled with enemies that look like they stepped right out of the show. I remember one part where I had to freeze a river with Wanda's ice magic to cross, then immediately switch to Timmy to push a block onto a switch. It's not hard, but the constant swapping keeps you on your toes.
Some of the platforming feels a little stiff, and the camera doesn't always help when you're trying to line up jumps. Still, if you're into the show, The Fairly Oddparents - Shadow Showdown (Sir VG) (EU) has enough charm to make it worth playing through.
