I picked up The Land Before Time for the Game Boy Advance back when it came out, a simple licensed platformer from Conspiracy Entertainment. It was one of those many movie tie-ins that filled the shelves, aiming to capture a bit of the film's charm on a handheld screen.
You control Littlefoot, moving through side scrolling levels, jumping on platforms and pushing objects like rocks and logs to clear paths or trigger switches. The main goal is to reunite with your friends by navigating environmental puzzles and avoiding enemies like Sharpteeth. You collect clover leaves to unlock new areas and find your way through each stage, which requires careful timing and a bit of backtracking. The pacing is deliberate, with some tricky jumps that can lead to cheap hits, but pushing through to see the next screen gives a small sense of accomplishment.
