So The Tick on Genesis is basically you, this big blue superhero dude, running around punching ninjas and dodging random sharp stuff flying at your face. It’s less about precision jumps and more about brawling—like if Streets of Rage had a weird cousin who wore spandex.
At first, the perspective shifts threw me off—normal side-scrolling one second, then suddenly this semi-isometric angle when fists start flying. But once you get used to it, calling in Arthur (your trusty moth sidekick) to clean up enemies feels oddly satisfying. Boss fights are everywhere, and they’re the kind where you mash buttons and hope for the best.
Not gonna lie, the controls take a minute to click, but there’s something charming about how over-the-top it all is. If you’re into ‘90s beat-’em-ups with a side of absurdity, this one’s worth a few rounds.
