Play The Wizard of Oz Online
Bounce between Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Lion—each handles totally different, like Scarecrow’s floaty jumps versus the Lion’s roar smashing monkeys. Weird mix of movie and cartoon levels means you’re hopping from Munchkinland to clock-filled Time Town while hunting hidden items.

I remember picking up The Wizard of Oz for the Super Nintendo back in 1993, developed by Manley & Associates. It was one of those licensed games that tried to do something a little different, blending the movie's story with some original ideas. At the time, a lot of games were experimenting with switching characters, and this one jumped right into that trend.
You control Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion, each with unique abilities; Dorothy uses her basket to attack, the Scarecrow can jump higher and float, and the Lion's roar stuns enemies. The main goal is to collect pieces of the Rainbow Clock to restore order to Oz, which involves exploring levels screen by screen, solving simple puzzles, and fighting off enemies like flying monkeys and angry trees. The pacing is slow, almost methodical, with a fair amount of backtracking to find hidden items or use the right character in the right spot. It feels a bit clunky at times, but there's a certain charm in seeing the world and characters come to life through those bright, colorful sprites.
