Play Thundercade Online
Ride your armed motorcycle, blast enemies, dodge bullets, collect power-ups, and take down bosses in this chaotic 1989 NES shooter.
Thundercade came out for the NES in 1989, developed by Seta Corporation. It was part of that wave of late 80s action games that tried to push the hardware with fast, chaotic shooting. You don't see many games built around a combat motorcycle, so it always stood out, even if it wasn't the most polished title on the system.
You control a soldier on an armed motorcycle, moving upward through each stage while enemies pour in from all sides. Your main goal is to survive the onslaught and take down the boss waiting at the end of each area. You can upgrade your firepower by collecting power-ups that add sidecars; these flank your bike and shoot independently, turning your single shot into a wide spread. You also have a limited supply of screen clearing bombs, which you learn to save for when you're completely boxed in. The pace is relentless, and the difficulty spikes quickly, especially when bullets and vehicles fill the screen. It feels like you're constantly threading a needle between aggression and survival.
