You pick a pro skater, like Tony Hawk or Bob Burnquist, and skate through timed levels trying to complete objectives.
You control your skater with the D-pad, performing ollies, grinds, and manuals to link tricks together for high scores. The main goal is to achieve a set number of points, find hidden tapes, and complete level-specific tasks before time runs out. Signature mechanics include building and maintaining combos by balancing manuals between grinds and jumps, as well as performing special moves once your special meter is full. The pacing is fast, and the isometric perspective makes judging some jumps tricky at first. It feels rewarding when you finally chain a long combo without bailing.
