Trojan is a side-scrolling action game from Capcom, originally released in arcades in 1986 and now playable through MAME. The setting is a post-apocalyptic city overrun by gangs, and you play as a survivor trying to fight his way to safety.
You control a character armed with a sword and a shield, moving screen by screen through urban ruins. The main objective is to defeat all the enemies in an area to progress, culminating in a boss fight at the end of each stage. Key mechanics include blocking incoming attacks with your shield by pressing back, and using a variety of sword slashes and jumping strikes. The pacing is deliberate; you can't just rush in, you have to watch enemy patterns and time your blocks. It feels tense and tactical, demanding patience and precision with every encounter.
