Game Overview
Twylyte is one of those classic Amiga shooters that feels like Space Harrier cranked up to eleven. You're constantly barreling forward at insane speeds, weaving between indestructible barriers while dodging enemy fire from all directions. What makes it tricky is the vertical movement—your ship can go up and down too, which sounds helpful until you realize you're trying to line up shots while avoiding obstacles in 3D space.
Energy management is everything here. Get hit, and your energy drops. Too low, and you can't even shoot back. Run out completely? Game over. The only way to stay alive is scooping up those green energy blocks—some stages even give you a breather where you can collect them without enemies harassing you. The radar's your best friend, showing little dots for upcoming obstacles so you don't get blindsided.
Visually, it's all polygonal, with that early 3D charm (you can switch to wireframe if you're feeling nostalgic). Most enemies don't rotate—they just zoom toward you, which somehow makes everything feel even faster. It's chaotic, punishing, and weirdly satisfying when you finally nail a perfect run.
