Game Overview
UMS is one of those ambitious Amiga war sims that tries to do everything—ancient battles, sci-fi conflicts, even famous historical fights like Hastings. You can zoom from a single soldier all the way out to the entire battlefield, which is pretty cool if you like juggling perspectives.
That said, don’t expect naval combat (it’s just not there) and the fog of war is weirdly absent, which makes some battles feel a bit… gamey. Still, if you’re into deep tactical sims with a ton of scope, it’s got enough meat to chew on. They even made a sequel, UMS II, so someone must’ve liked it.
