Uninvited came out for the Amiga in 1986, a point-and-click adventure from Mindscape. It arrived when the platform was still young, offering a different kind of experience from the arcade ports and shooters that were common. You explore a haunted mansion after a car crash, trying to find your missing brother amidst a lot of strange, supernatural happenings.
You control a cursor to interact with the environment, picking up items and combining them to solve puzzles. The main goal is to navigate the mansion's many rooms, avoid or defeat the various ghosts and creatures inside, and ultimately reveal the story behind the place. The game uses a first person perspective, moving screen by screen, and its difficulty comes from the obscure puzzles and the constant threat of sudden death. It feels like piecing together a dangerous, unpredictable story where every click could lead to a trap or a clue.
