Game Overview

Uzu Keobukseon (or Wheel of Fortune if you're not playing the Korean version) is one of those Sega Genesis games that shouldn’t work as well as it does. It’s a word puzzle game based on a TV show, sure, but there’s something weirdly gripping about spinning that pixelated wheel and praying you don’t land on bankruptcy.

The puzzles are just tricky enough to make you feel smart when you solve them, and the 16-bit presentation nails the cheesy game show vibe—complete with digitized audience cheers. I lost way too much time trying to beat my own high score, and the two-player mode turns it into a surprisingly cutthroat competition. (Pro tip: vowels are expensive, so maybe don’t guess "E" right away.)

It’s not flashy, but if you’ve got a soft spot for retro games or just want a break from button-mashing action, this one’s a solid pick. The Sega Genesis had weirder hidden gems, but few this oddly satisfying.
