Play Venice Beach Volleyball Online
Classic NES volleyball with customizable matches—pick teams, scoring rules, and difficulty. Play solo or challenge a friend in this surprisingly tactical 8-bit sports game.

Venice Beach Volleyball came out in 1991 for the Nintendo Entertainment System, developed by Idea-Tek. It was one of the few volleyball games on the platform, arriving late in the NES lifecycle when players were starting to expect more from sports simulations. The game tried to capture the casual, sun-soaked vibe of its real-world setting without overcomplicating things.
You control a team of two players, switching between them to serve, bump, set, and spike. The main goal is to outscore the opponent under rules you can customize, like match length or point limits. Key mechanics include positioning your players for blocks or digs, and timing jumps at the net to stuff spikes. The pace is brisk, and the difficulty can feel unforgiving if your timing is off. It feels satisfying when a well-placed shot just drops in.
