Game Overview

Remember that sweaty-palm feeling watching Who Wants to Be a Millionaire on TV? This GBA version somehow manages to cram all that tension into a tiny cartridge. You start off breezing through early questions—"Oh please, of course the Eiffel Tower is in Paris"—but by question eight, you're staring at the screen like, "Wait, how many moons does Saturn have actually?"

The lifelines work surprisingly well for a handheld game. "50:50" is your best friend when you're totally guessing, though the "Phone a Friend" AI occasionally gives hilariously bad advice. Questions jump from 90s pop culture to obscure science facts, so no two playthroughs feel the same. Graphics are basic, but who cares when you're one wrong answer away from crashing back to $1,000?

I may or may not have yelled at my Game Boy in public after losing on the $250,000 question about Renaissance painters. No regrets.
