The signature mechanics are the three lifelines: you can use 50:50 to eliminate two wrong answers, Phone a Friend for a hint, or Ask the Audience to see a poll of what they think is correct. The pacing is deliberate, forcing you to think under a soft time pressure, and the difficulty spikes noticeably around the higher value questions.
