Play Winter Gold (Europe) on gb Online
Tiny pixel athletes wipe out spectacularly as you fumble downhill skiing, nail tricky ski jumps, and somehow make figure skating work on a Game Boy—it’s janky but weirdly addictive.

Winter Gold for the Game Boy came out in 1996, published by Nintendo. It was part of that wave of portable sports games that tried to capture the feel of bigger console titles, but on a much smaller screen. The graphics were simple, the controls straightforward, and it didn't try to be anything more than a quick, fun distraction.
You control a tiny athlete in several winter events, including downhill skiing, ski jumping, and figure skating. The main goal is to complete each event with the best score or fastest time possible. Signature mechanics include timing your jumps for maximum distance in the ski jump, and inputting button combinations to perform spins and tricks in figure skating. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty can be unforgiving if you mistime a move. It feels satisfying when you finally nail a clean run after a few messy attempts.
