Game Overview
Wonder Dog is one of those classic Amiga platformers that just oozes charm. You play as this super-powered alien pup who can leap crazy high and hurl ninja stars—because, of course, why wouldn’t an exiled space dog have those skills? The story’s goofy in the best way: scientists shipped him off to Earth to dodge an invasion, and now he’s fighting his way back home through these bright, cartoony levels.
What I love is how each stage throws something new at you—hidden bonus rooms, weird little enemies, and these massive boss fights that feel like they take up half the screen. The first time I played, I got wrecked by the first boss because I didn’t realize you could actually dodge its attacks by timing your jumps just right. Feels great when you finally nail it.
It’s got that perfect mix of challenge and silliness, where you’re chucking stars at mutant vegetables one minute and dodging laser beams the next. Definitely a hidden gem if you’re into retro platformers with personality.
