Play WWF - War Zone Online

Throw on some tights and step into the ring—this is where you suplex fools into the turnbuckle while the crowd loses it. That create-a-wrestler mode? Still holds up.

Game Overview

WWF War Zone was a big deal when it hit the N64—first wrestling game with full 3D wrestlers, and man, those blocky models felt revolutionary at the time. You’ve got all the usual punches and kicks, but the real fun is in the grapples: hold a direction while hitting the grapple button, and suddenly you’re tossing opponents into the ropes or slamming them with a suplex. The crowd goes nuts, the announcers yell generic hype lines, and if you’re playing the PlayStation version, you even get little FMV cutscenes.

There’s a ton of match types—cage fights, tag teams, even a chaotic weapons mode where you can whack people with chairs. The N64 version sneaks in two extras: Royal Rumble and gauntlet matches, which are as messy as they sound. But my favorite part? Creating your own wrestler. You start at the bottom of this weird pyramid ranking system, fighting your way up while occasionally getting ambushed by rivals demanding revenge matches (usually with weapons involved, because wrestling logic). It’s janky by today’s standards, but back then, it felt like holding a piece of Monday Night Raw in your hands.
