Yu Yu Hakusho: Spirit Detective came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2005, developed by Sensory Sweep and published by Atari. The game follows Yusuke Urameshi's early adventures as a Spirit Detective, pulling you into a side scrolling world filled with familiar faces and straightforward action.

You control Yusuke through a series of levels, punching and kicking your way through waves of enemies while occasionally using his signature Spirit Gun. The main goal is to progress screen by screen, defeating bosses and uncovering clues related to various spirit world cases. Exploration is linear but occasionally rewards you with health pickups or extra lives; the combat is simple, relying on basic combos and timed special moves. The pacing is brisk, and the difficulty feels fair without too many surprises. It feels like a solid, no frills adaptation that gets you right into the action.
