YY-SMB2 B1 V1.06e (SMB1 Hack) is one of those rom hacks that feels familiar but throws enough curveballs to keep you on your toes. The first few levels trick you into thinking it's just a reskin, but then the platforming gets mean—hidden blocks where you don't expect them, enemies spawning in awkward spots.
Some of the new stage designs are clever, forcing you to rethink old SMB1 habits. But the difficulty spikes hard in later worlds, almost like the creator got bored and just started flooding screens with hammer bros. Still, there's something satisfying about beating a level after ten tries, even if it feels unfair half the time.
