Game Overview
Z-Out is that classic Amiga shooter where you’re blasting through waves of weird, squishy alien enemies across six levels. It’s got that same vibe as X-Out, but with a few twists—power-ups exist, but they’re not the main focus, so you can’t just coast by grabbing upgrades.
Weirdly, playing with a friend actually makes things harder. Most power-ups vanish in co-op mode, and the few that do show up don’t kick in until level 3. Plus, if you die in 2-player, there’s no checkpoint respawns—you both just keep going from where you left off. It’s brutal, but in a way that makes you actually coordinate instead of just steamrolling everything.
Definitely one of those shooters where memorizing enemy patterns matters more than lucking into overpowered weapons.
