Game Overview

I picked up Zelda no Densetsu: Kamigami no Triforce & 4tsu no Tsuru on Game Boy Advance back in 2002, a release from Nintendo that bundled two very different experiences. It was a solid package for the handheld, coming at a time when having a full console-style adventure in your pocket still felt like a novelty. The first game is a direct port of A Link to the Past from the Super Nintendo, while the second is the original Four Swords adventure, which was new at the time.

In the main quest, you control Link through an overhead perspective, exploring a large world screen by screen. Your goal is to rescue Princess Zelda, defeat Ganon, and collect the pieces of the Triforce. You fight enemies with your sword and a growing arsenal of items like the bow and hookshot, and you spend a lot of time solving puzzles in intricate dungeons. The pacing is deliberate, and some dungeons can be quite challenging. The second game, Four Swords, is a cooperative (or competitive) adventure where you and up to three friends each control a colored Link, working together to progress but also competing for rupees. Playing through it feels like a thoughtful, complete adventure that rewards exploration and careful combat.
