Zero Tolerance is that weird, janky FPS that somehow made it onto the Genesis—and honestly, it’s kind of impressive it exists at all. You’re part of a squad dropped onto a space station overrun by aliens, and yeah, the graphics are blocky as hell, but there’s something weirdly satisfying about blasting your way through dimly lit corridors with the Genesis’ crunchy sound effects.

You pick one of five soldiers (each with different stats, so your heavy weapons guy moves like a tank while the medic’s quicker but weaker), then crawl through vents, scavenge ammo, and try not to get jumped by creatures lurking around corners. The level design’s maze-like, so expect a lot of backtracking when you find keycards. It’s clunky, but there’s a real tension to it—you’ll actually panic when your health’s low and you’re down to pistol rounds.

For a 16-bit FPS, it’s got surprising depth, like co-op mode and even a password system for saving progress. Just don’t go in expecting Doom.
