Play Zero Tolerance Online
Team up with soldiers, switch between them, fight aliens, manage health and ammo, find keycards, and try to escape a spaceship before it self-destructs in Zero Tolerance (1994).
Zero Tolerance came out on the Sega Genesis in 1994, developed by Technopop. It was one of those games that tried to push the 16-bit hardware into first-person territory, a space not many console games explored with much depth at the time. You got the sense they were really trying to build something ambitious for the system.
You control a team of five soldiers, each with their own specialty and weapon, and you can switch between them on the fly as you fight through a spaceship overrun by aliens. The main goal is to purge the infestation and escape before the station self-destructs. Key mechanics include managing your squad's health and ammo, finding keycards to unlock new areas, and dealing with the permanent loss of any soldier who falls in combat. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty is unforgiving; every corner could be your last. It feels like a tense, claustrophobic race for survival where every decision carries weight.
