Game Overview
Action In New York is one of those NES games that throws everything at you—side-scrolling shootouts, driving sections, even some platforming. It's chaotic, but in a way that keeps you guessing.
The first level drops you right into a car chase, weaving through traffic while shooting at enemies. Then suddenly you're on foot, jumping gaps and dodging bullets. The transitions are jarring, but it never gets boring.
Some of the hit detection feels off, especially in the platforming bits. You'll swear you cleared a jump, only to plummet anyway. But the variety makes up for it—one minute you're blasting through a warehouse, the next you're in a high-speed pursuit.
Action In New York doesn't do any one thing perfectly, but the sheer unpredictability gives it charm. Just don't expect a smooth ride.
