Game Overview

Advanced Daisenryaku, released for the Sega Genesis in 1991 by SystemSoft, was one of the deeper strategy titles available on the console at the time. It didn't have the flash of other games, but it offered a serious, methodical alternative for players who wanted to think several moves ahead.

You command an entire military force, moving individual units like tanks, infantry, and fighter jets across a large hex-based map. The main objective is to capture the enemy's headquarters while defending your own, which involves careful resource management and long-term planning. Two of its most defining mechanics are its detailed supply system, where units far from cities or supply trucks will quickly run out of fuel and ammunition, and the fog of war, which hides enemy movements until your units get close enough to spot them. The pacing is deliberately slow, demanding patience as you methodically secure territory and build your front lines. It feels less like a frantic battle and more like directing a complex, living war from a command tent.
