I first came across The Adventures of Rad Gravity on the NES back in 1990, published by Activision. It was one of those late-era platformers that tried to stand out with a sci-fi theme and some genuinely odd ideas, fitting right in with the experimental spirit of the time even if it wasn't a household name.

You control Rad, an astronaut hopping between planets to gather pieces of a device. The core of the game is its gravity flipping mechanic; pressing a button reverses which way you fall, letting you walk on ceilings and navigate upside-down rooms. You explore screen by screen, using a laser pistol to fend off aliens and solving environmental puzzles that often involve timing and careful jumps. The pacing is deliberate, sometimes frustrating due to tricky platforming and obscure objectives, but figuring out each planet's unique gimmick provides a real sense of accomplishment. It feels clever and a little unpredictable every time you flip the world on its head.
