Download Akira_Disk1 ROM โ Amiga Game
1994 Amiga action racing game. Side-scrolling motorcycle stages with obstacles, fuel management, and grenade pickups. Five platforming levels with combat and progress meter. Based on Akira anime.
Game Overview
I picked up Akira Disk1 for the Amiga back in 1994, a game published by International Computer Entertainment Ltd. It was a time when licensed titles based on anime were becoming more common, and this one tried to capture the high-speed chaos of the film. The Amiga had a lot of ambitious games, and this was one that aimed to blend different styles into one package.
You control Kaneda on his motorcycle in side-scrolling stages, weaving through traffic, jumping gaps, and managing a limited fuel supply. You can pick up grenades to lob at enemies blocking your path. Between these racing sections, the game shifts to platforming levels where you explore on foot, fight armed guards, and work toward specific objectives. The pacing is uneven; the bike parts demand quick reflexes, while the platforming requires careful navigation. It feels like a rough but earnest attempt to translate a sprawling story into interactive form.
