Akira [hM04] (J) is a NES adventure game based on the anime, where you play as Kaneda navigating a dystopian New Tokyo. The first thing you notice is how much it leans into the movie's vibe—dark, tense, with that same oppressive military presence lurking everywhere.

You mostly click through dialogue options, but some choices just end the game abruptly. Like, one wrong move during a confrontation and suddenly you're staring at a Game Over screen. It keeps you on edge, but also feels a little cheap at times. The "examine" option lets you scan the environment, which is neat, though it doesn’t always lead anywhere useful.
