Game Overview

Alien 3 on the Game Boy is way scarier than it has any right to be. You're Ripley, trapped in those dimly lit prison corridors, listening to the eerie bleeps of your motion tracker while something moves just off-screen. The side-scrolling action feels like a weird mix of Metroid and pure panic—you’ll backtrack to unlock doors, but mostly you’re just trying not to get jumped by xenomorphs crawling out of air vents.

The flamethrower helps, but fuel’s limited, so you end up rationing it like your life depends on it (because it does). And that soundtrack? All creepy synths and sudden screeches that make you flinch. It’s janky in that classic Game Boy way, but the atmosphere totally holds up. Just don’t play it alone in the dark unless you enjoy nervously checking over your shoulder every five seconds.
