Altered Beast - Guardian Of The Realms GBA is a side-scrolling beat 'em up where you play as a warrior resurrected by Zeus to save his daughter. The first thing you notice is how stiff the controls feel—your punches land with a weird delay, and jumping never quite feels right.
Transforming into different beasts is the main gimmick, but it takes a while to build up the power for it. When you finally do, the werewolf form is satisfyingly brutal, tearing through enemies with claws. The levels drag on a bit too long though, and the enemy variety isn't great.
It's one of those games where nostalgia might carry it for some, but playing it fresh now, Altered Beast - Guardian Of The Realms GBA feels rough around the edges.
