Andro Dunos came out in the arcades in 1992 from Visco Corporation. It was a time when shoot 'em ups were everywhere, and this one had a clean, colorful look that made it stand out from the more gritty sci-fi games of the period. You could tell they put effort into the ship and enemy designs.
You pilot the Yellow Doom, a fighter ship battling an alien invasion. The main goal is to survive through six stages, each ending with a large boss. Your ship has four distinct weapons you can switch between at any time; a forward shot, a rear shot, a two-way shot, and a homing laser. Holding the fire button charges a powerful screen-clearing bomb, but dying makes you lose your current weapon upgrade. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty is fair but demanding, especially in later stages where enemy patterns get dense. It feels sharp and responsive, giving you a real sense of control during the chaos.
