Aquajack throws you into this little submarine and just goes—no tutorials, no hand-holding, just you and a torpedo button against an entire ocean of trouble. The controls are simple (left, right, shoot), but the water’s packed with mines, enemy subs, and these weird jellyfish things that seem to have a personal grudge against you.
What I love is how the screen scrolls just a tiny bit too fast, so you’re always half-panicking, weaving between coral reefs while trying to line up shots. The pixel art’s gorgeous though—all these deep blues and glowing green hazards that make crashing almost worth it. Almost.
It’s the kind of game where you’ll beat a level by the skin of your teeth, then immediately lose three lives in the first ten seconds of the next one. Pure arcade chaos.
