Aussie Rules Footy came out on the NES in 1992, developed by Beam Software. It was one of the few attempts to bring Australian rules football to a console, arriving late in the system's life when sports games were becoming more common, though still fairly simple in their presentation.

You control a team of players, switching between them to move the ball downfield by kicking, handballing, or running. The main goal is to outscore the opponent by kicking goals between the central posts or behinds through the side ones. Key mechanics include timing your button presses for kicking accuracy and engaging in tackles to dispossess the other team; the pace is fast and a bit frantic, with the difficulty coming from the close quarters and somewhat unpredictable ball physics.
